Early Potty Training

Something thats been going on in our home for the past month or so is starting to make me think. Moms weigh in and let me know how you'd feel, what you'd do or your experiences.

Bella (now 20.5 months) has started running to the bathroom and saying "Potty" "I potty" and more recently "I pee'd" and several forms of "I'm stinky" or "I poop". Hmm. Seems like early signs of wanting to rid herself of diapers if you ask me.

Our problem....her tiny bum. She barely weighs 20lbs and wears a 9-12 month size in most things. She is tall so dresses need to be an 18 month size, but the "booty covers" are way too big. She fits into 6-9mo or 9mo booty covers.

So what the heck do we do about a potty seat & panties???

Most panties start at 2t size. In some places we can  find 18mo size. Still too big!!! So what do we do???

Then potty seats. We usually use a little padded seat that can go on top of the regular toilet seat when the child needs to go. I like that it can be placed and removed upon need. I've never used a sit on the floor style model. I'm sort of opposed. Well whats the problem??? Bellas bottom is SO SMALL that it falls thru ALL the styles we can find. Our only option that we can see at this point...Jesse will have to make one!

Input???

  1. I have a pattern for underwear. I know weird huh? But now I finally have a reason someone would actually make their own underwear! Sounds like we could have a girls night sewing underwear for Bella's teeny bum. Just think, we make all the designs we want! So crazy to have to think about sewing teeny tiny underwear. wow.
