Mays weather was sort of ridiculous. To be honest the weather has totally stunk! Last year we were SWIMMING by mid-April. This year however, we've had 1 day where it hit the 80's and then nada. Its been more like winter. It seemed like Thursdays storm caught a bunch of people by surprise. Victoria and I were caught off guard. I was in the chicken coop and she was in the yard. All the sudden THUNDER....then big fat droplets of rain. Oh and then about 60 seconds later HAIL. First I wasn't sure, but then it was obvious....chunks of ice all over the ground and hitting me in the head. Pea sized hail. Victoria and I headed as quick as possible to the back porch. We were already soaked.
Then we just stood there and watched. It was pretty intense. But we have a big metal patio cover and it sounded amazing. We realized the wind was gusting and we needed to go flip the trampoline over asap. By the time it wasn't pouring or hailing there was over and inch of hail on the top. I needed Jesse to help me flip it over. It was HEAVY. It really was a beautiful storm.
This year swimming commenced on Memorial Day. The POOL is now officially open.
I am all for summer storms. I need something to cool off with. Even if it's a slight breeze and hot rain. I still hate the weather here in the summer.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Melissa. I'm sorta glad it has stayed cooler because I know once the intense heat comes, there is NO break from it.
ReplyDeleteI don't exactly like the unpredictable weather we've been having cause every morning I wonder what I should wear.
Anyway, I despise Chico Summers. They stink. lol
