Tecnu Extreme, Hydrocortisone & Corn Starch

I've recently found out I am HIGHLY allergic to poison oak in my old age. I never got this crap in 12 years of Girl Scouts, at Yosemite or working at BSA Camp Lassen for 2+ years. I know I walked through it several times before! If you get poison oak, plan on getting outdoors this summer or already know you are allergic then go buy some Tecnu Extreme Scrub!!! This stuff works wonders.

Some of my rashy spots were on places that were less desirable. Aka...my underwire bra line. Its still there and a few other small spots. But when it gets to itching so bad that I'd like to crawl out of my skin...or rip off a body part, I can jump in the shower and scrub this on and rinse off with cool water. Its great!

If I had know I was even exposed and washed my whole body with this upon returning home...I might not have had issues to begin with. Other than re-exposure. Ugh....another story.

Don't put hydrocortisone on your cheeks, eye lids or even thin sensitive skin near your chest. Just a warning. To be honest, it was the least helpful thing (anywhere on my body) during my now 3 week battle with poison oak.

Cornstarch is amazing! Yeah I'll have to add to that story, but not now. Just remember that nice spot that got rubbed a lot.

  1. You poor thing! Tecnu saved us too. The extreme version wasn't out yet I don't think but we used the wash, itch gel & their cornstarch lotion. They are expensive products but really work. Glad you are doing better & I hope it completely clears up soon!
